Meyertech continued to build its image in the Middle East against all the odds!

Although the show had the potential to be the largest to-date (over 700 exhibitors from 50 countries with 12 country pavilions attended), it was scuppered by a combination of US president George W. Bush and torrential rain.

The opening day was slow due to Bush's visit to Abu Dhabi; the second day was declared a public holiday due to the security arrangements for Bush's visit to Dubai, which involved the complete closure of the central road network in Dubai and coincided with over 60mm of rain in less than 24 hours.
