Meyertech
has announced that it has appointed DHL to manage and implement
its WEEE compliance responsibilities. The full regulatory
requirements come into force on 1st July 2007 but before then here
are some other key dates your purchasing department should be aware
of.
Key Milestone Dates
- 1st January 2007 - Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
Regulations became law in UK
- 15th March 2007 - Producers must have registered with an approved
Producer Compliance Scheme e.g. DHL
- 1st April 2007 - All products purchased from this date must
be marked with the 'crossed -out wheelie bin' symbol, placed on
the market date and the producer identification mark.
- 1st July 2007 - Full producer responsibility begins
